ADSI and Digital Controls announce ADSI software now Solaris Certified
Dayton, Ohio and Southhaven MississipiApplication Data Systems, Inc. (ADSI) and Digital Controls Corporation today announced that ADSIs
public safety software systems have all been tested and certified to run on the Sun Microsystems Solaris platform. ADSIs commitment to high quality products and exceptional customer service requires that
they continuously upgrade and expand their product line to meet the demands of their customers. As a result of this commitment, ADSI partnered with Digital Controls Corporation, experts in the implementation
and support of Sun Solaris systems, to assist them with the testing/porting process that ADSI undergoes when certifying a new operating platform.
"Unlike private companies, public safety organizations
can't change out their technology every 2-3 years," said Joel House, CEO of ADSI. Added House "Hardware is a big investment for public safety organizations. It needs lots of built-in redundancy to
avoid interruptions in service. Public safety is a 24/7 operation. You must have reliable hardware and reliable software and that is why we have added the Sun Microsystems Solaris platform to the list of platforms
that we support.
ABOUT ADSI Application Data Systems was chartered in May 1981 with its primary business being the development of Computer Application Software for the Public Safety marketplace.
The success of Application Data Systems, Inc. is because of the people that have been associated with the corporation over the years. These people used their skills of system design, system analysis, programming,
marketing, and customer relations, as well as long hours when necessary, to get the job done. ADSIs start in the Public Safety software market came with the development of a Computer Assisted Dispatch system for
the Memphis Fire Department. Later, CAD was enhanced to include the Law Enforcement and EMS dispatching. The CAD is now dispatching Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS vehicles for many cities and counties across the
nation such as Peoria, IL, Dayton, OH, Baton Rouge, LA, Tucson, AZ, and Memphis, TN to name a few. Many improvements have been made to the CAD software since the original version was written in 1983. With each new
installation, new ideas are introduced and enhancements are made. After completing the first CAD release, and after several years of work, an ADSI software module also now covers many aspects of governmental
reporting.
