Standard Register Forms Strategic Alliance with
Digital Controls’ Plus Technologies division for Advanced Document Delivery

Dayton, Ohio- Digital Controls Corporation’s Plus Technologies division today announced a partnership with Standard Register (NYSE:SR). With this alliance, Standard Register will sell Plus Technologies’ OM Plus software to enhance its LinkUp® Enterprise, and Patient LinkUp® Enterprise solutions. Plus Technologies’ OM Plus software provides advanced document delivery, conditioning and printer management features.  Adding OM Plus to the LinkUp product family gives Standard Register customers additional management capabilities that will streamline the administration of print jobs and printers and other output destinations such as fax, email and web. The Alliance also allows Standard Register to sell OM Plus as a standalone product into its extensive Document Systems customer base.

”This is a great fit for both companies,” stated Mike Denny, CEO of Digital Controls.  Added Denny, “Most importantly, Standard Register customers will have a significantly enhanced product with new functionality and we have access to Standard Register’s sales force and their great reputation in the marketplace.”

Standard Register's LinkUp® Enterprise and Patient LinkUp® Enterprise are state-of-the-art document management programs that converts raw data from business applications into richly formatted documents such as checks and patient medical records. The existing LinkUp implementations however, are limited in capability by the routing technologies currently being used. The addition of Plus Technologies’ OM Plus software provides enhancements that include bi-directional communication directly with the printers to enable print confirmation, trigger based document routing, improved document reprint, real time print status monitor, incremental system security, conversion of print jobs to email or fax, and archival-retrieval functions.  The addition of these capabilities extends the functionality of the LinkUp products making them more robust and easier to manage for Standard Register’s customers.

OM Plus helps facilitate the migration from paper based forms printing to a flexible software based electronic output management based solution, bridging the gap between a paper-intensive environment and one that is highly automated.  As an enterprise-wide solution, it routes documents and electronic information to the desired destination, including printers, fax, email, or the web.  With little or no impact to the host application, it can increase the speed and flexibility of presenting information while reducing cost, complexity and errors.

According to Tim Spencer, general manager of Standard Register Document Systems, “Plus Technologies has solved the intermediary stage for document delivery.  With the integration of OM Plus, Standard Register’s Link Up software can now route, deliver, re-route and report back on the delivery of documents through a host of common printer solutions.”

Mike Visser, vice president and general manager of Plus Technologies, stated, “The combination of the LinkUp and OM Plus technologies is a great marriage as it will provide Standard Registers customers with real incremental value previously not available. Our new partnered solution now allows customers to confirm actual print status received from the printer itself as well as streamline the efficiency of delivery processes, such as check printing and patient kit printing.  The new functionality offers customers both new added value and reduced operating costs.“
