News Release--For Immediate Release--June 23, 2003

Digital Controls’ e-Tools@Work division releases new version of SchoolTools@work to K-12 Market

Dayton, Ohio—Digital Controls Corporation's e-Tools@Work division (formerly known as e-solutions@work) announced today a new release of its SchoolTools@work product suite. Version 3.1 of SchoolTools@work includes many new features designed to improve functionality and usability. Additionally, SchoolTools@work version 3.1 is deployed under a new licensing model from previous versions. The new model decreases the school district's upfront implementation costs.

SchoolTools@work, an Internet web application package, focuses on the communications between the school district and the community that the school district serves:  students, parents, property owners and prospective new residents through the district's website.

School officials and teachers all want to provide a high level of accurate and up to date information to parents and the entire community on subjects such as school closings, homework assignments, field trips and many other issues. However, keeping information on a district's website up to date is a complex process. SchoolTools@work now makes that process easier and cost effectively accomplishes this objective.

SchoolTools@work enables school personnel: administrators, teachers, sports and extracurricular activity coaches to provide the community with up to date information on the school's many functions because they can publish the information themselves without delay right to the district's website. SchoolTools@work addresses the problem of only a few people within the district being able to "publish" information to the district's website. This traditional publishing model creates a "bottleneck" to timely information publishing.

More effective communications between the district and its community increases involvement in the district's activities and improves understanding of the district's needs.
Removing the communications barriers between the district and the community it serves improves the quality of the education that the district can deliver.

"All school superintendents are charged with the task of improving education in their district," said John Lynch, VP and General Manager of e-Tools@Work.  Added Mr. Lynch, "We find that through the increased involvement of the community that is realized with a SchoolTools@work deployment, the district's educational mission is better understood, its needs are easier for community members to understand and its parents are better informed about their kids education because of improved communication with teachers. "

ABOUT E-TOOLS@WORK
e-Tools@Work focuses on database driven web applications for the education (K-12) and local government markets.  They have developed web application solutions for schools and city/county governments that make the task of managing and posting website content simple enough for content owners to publish it to the Internet themselves. Content publishing is delegated to the people who own the information; administrators, teachers, coaches, government officials, support staff, advisors, principals, etc.   They also build K-12 district Staff Productivity Applications.  These applications are designed to increase the time teachers have with students through the streamlining of processes like requesting and scheduling transportation or a leave day.  These processes are very "paper intensive" and time consuming and take teachers away from their first mission, Teaching Kids.
