Digital Controls and VARtek to Partner to Bring Schooltools@work to K-12 Schools across the Midwest
Dayton, OhioDigital Controls Corporation announced today a new relationship between its e-Tools@Work web applications division (formerly
known as e-solutions@work) and VARtek Services, Inc. of Centerville, OH.
The two companies have reached an agreement for VARtek to re-sell Digital Controls' Schooltools@work web application for K-12 Schools. VARtek will be marketing Schooltools@work to its customer base in Ohio as well as K-12 schools in Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Illinois and West Virginia.
"We at the e-Tools@Work division of Digital Controls are excited about expanding our services to more school districts," said John Lynch, Vice President and General Manager of e-Tools@Work.
Added Mr. Lynch, "This agreement with VARtek enables us to put our package into the service of more school districts and their communities."
"We are excited about ability to further help K-12
schools with the important area of communications between parents and schools," Michael Hosford, CEO of VARtek Services. Added Hosford, "The Internet continues to change the way the world operates and
communicates. School websites have become complex information environments with the numbers of web pages running into the 1,000's and the number of teachers, students and parents accessing this information into the
10,000-20,000-user range for many schools.
Keeping this level of content management up to date is a complicated process that is made easier with the tools that e-Tools@Work has created. School officials and
teachers want to provide a high level of accurate and up to date information to parents on subjects such as school closings, homework assignments, field trips and many other communications and this tool cost
effectively accomplishes this process."
ABOUT SCHOOLTOOLS@WORK Schooltools@work, an Internet web application package, focuses on the communications between the school district and
the community that the school district serves: students, parents, property owners and prospective new residents.
The software package, hosted on an Internet server, enables school personnel:
administrators, teachers, sports and extracurricular activity coaches to provide the community with up to date information on the school's many functions.
Schooltools@work addresses the problem of only a few
people within the district being able to "publish" information which creates a "bottleneck" to timely information.
More effective communications between the district and its community
increases community involvement in the district's activities and improves understanding of the district's needs.

ABOUT E-TOOLS@WORK e-Tools@Work
focuses on database driven web applications for the education (K-12) and local government markets. They have developed web application solutions for schools and city/county governments that make the task of
managing and posting website content simple enough for content owners to publish it to the Internet themselves.
Content publishing is delegated to the people who own the information; administrators, teachers, coaches, government officials, support staff, advisors, principals, etc. They also build K-12 district Staff Productivity Applications. These applications are designed to increase the time teachers have with students through the streamlining of processes like requesting and scheduling transportation or a leave day. These processes are very "paper intensive" and time consuming and take teachers away from their first mission, Teaching Kids.
