Strategic alliance offers a complete output management and
interoperability solution
Dayton, Ohio and Federal Way, Washington--LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of scalable storage solutions for enterprises and a
wholly owned subsidiary of LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE:LSI), today announced that a basic and extendable version of Plus Technologiesâ OM Plus Output Management software will be bundled with Enterprise Services
software. This agreement between LSI Logic and Plus Technologies, A Division of Digital Controls, provides Enterprise Services customers with a complete output management solution.
Enterprise Services
is the leading, standards-based solution for enterprise-wide interoperability. TotalNET Advanced Server (TAS), the core software product of Enterprise Services, enables the consolidation of Windows 95/98 and
NT/2000, NetWare, Macintosh, and Unix clients onto a single, reliable Unix server. An Enterprise Services-enabled Unix server allows all enterprise users to share common file, directory, authentication, and output
services. In addition to TAS, Enterprise Services offers extensive CustomerCare, complete with 24/7 Technical Support, and Professional Services to ensure networks consistently operate to the advantage of business.
OM Plus, an output management software product, provides a single user interface for different Unix systems that monitors all servers, destinations, and print jobs across an entire enterprise. OM Plus works
with virtually any business application or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in Unix, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Linux environments.
The demonstration version of OM Plus bundled with TAS 6.1
allows for the delivery of reports and documents to print, fax, e-mail, web, and viewer destinations. Not only does OM Plus offer enterprises tremendous flexibility, but proven reliability as well. Should a primary
print destination fail, documents are automatically re-routed to a secondary printer. OM Plus can also split reports to multiple print locations, track output from the point of origin to delivery, and provide
scalability to 99,999 concurrent print jobs. Simply stated, the functionality of OM Plus enables enterprises to increase the reliability, availability, security, and manageability of output services.
The
bundling of OM Plus with TAS 6.1 provides enterprises with the ability to drastically simplify network architecture. With OM Plus on an Enterprise Services-enabled Unix server, output devices become accessible to
all users, regardless of operating system. Now businesses can streamline output resources and more efficiently manage network operations across the enterprise.
