Digital Controls Announces $1,000,000 Unix Migration Sale to Sarasota County Florida.

Dayton, Ohio--Digital Controls Corporation announced today that they have implemented a hardware, software and services contract to migrate Sarasota County’s Information Technology Department’s legacy Unix environment to the Sun Microsystems™ Solaris™ platform. The deal was valued in excess of $1,000,000.  The new system now delivers the performance levels to support the growth of Sarasota County.  The Sun Solaris operating environment will allow the adaptation of the latest software from the County’s application provider. The balanced system design is built around Sun's high-performance Gigaplane™ technology and delivers tremendous throughput for compute- and I/O-intensive databases, decision support and business applications. The new system increases system availability through its resilient design, dynamic reconfiguration and alternate pathing, system recovery, and proactive hardware failure prediction.
