Web site design is the basic building block of any Internet site.  Our design team are graphic design experts.  We strive to develop web solutions that include intuitive navigation schemes to provide your customers with an easy to navigate Internet solution. Whether the solution is for your corporate external web site, your company intranet or an extranet you want to implement for secure access by your partners, e-solutions@work can provide you with world class web site design. We also offer content management as well as on-going support services for your web site.

Intranet sites are a key strategic activity for most businesses today.  Our experts can design and implement an intranet solution specifically to meet your unique needs.  Intranets are a tremendous way to better distribute information (product information, policies, news, H.R. info etc.) and increase your organization’s overall efficiency.  Extranets are secure web sites that your organization deploys for partners, or customers to access information that you do not want to be readily available to the general population via the Internet.

Prior to designing your web site, e-solutions@work designs the structure and navigation then the individual pages required and finally any additional functional elements your site requires.

Structure and Navigation

Structure and navigation are the two elements that are considered first. These two elements are like the outline of the whole project.  Structure of the site is what determines how many different branches or menu levels of information the site will contain. Larger sites branch out into more areas, whereas smaller sites are not as complex.  The navigation is the "look and feel of the site".  It determines how a person will link to all the different pages of information. Navigation elements include, button bars, page headers, and other types of graphical elements that are similar on just about every page in the site.

Pages

The web pages are the heart of the site. They contain the text and pictures or graphics that are unique to each page. Pages are designed three different ways.  The first is when our customer supplies the content for each page and also how the page will be laid out. The second is when our customer supplies content and we lay it out and format it for the web for them.  The third is when our customer provides only the idea of what they want the page to be about and we come up with content based upon their ideas.

Functional Elements

Functional elements are the dynamic part of our customer’s site. Functional elements must be used at the proper time and in a discreet way.  They allow the user of the site to interact with it. For example, the site would work better if a customer could fill out a form, or an animated image would provide a means of communication that a still image is unable to.  Functional elements include forms, java applets, animated images, video integration, chat rooms, discussion rooms etc.

Database Integration

Linking your web site to your corporate data has many advantages.  Allowing information on your site to be new and up to date is one value add of linking a database to your web site. You can make appropriate information available to customers as well as suppliers. Providing multiple links to the data within your site, allows you to easily update multiple areas of the site as you update just one record in your database.
