DEVELOPMENT METHODOLOGY
Before any Internet project is undertaken, e-solutions@work embarks on a complete project definition phase. Project definition establishes the
mission of the site, defines the processes that will be followed, identifies software components needed, discusses the data requirements, validates the design, plans the training needs and evaluates the e-marketing
program.
Establish the Mission
Every site needs a basic purpose--a mission that will drive your team, focus your site, and eventually attract your users. Articulating your mission
is a significant task and one that can seem overwhelming, but you can kick off a productive brainstorming session by answering a few simple questions during this phase.
- Why are you here?
- What do you want to accomplish with this site?
- What do you want your users to accomplish with this site?
- What will keep a user on your site?
- What will encourage a user to return?
- Would you like to create new revenue streams with your site?
Process Definition Identifying business processes that are to be enhanced, changed or created is the first step in deploying a successful
web initiative. This often involves not only looking at current processes but also, developing new processes to streamline the flow of information.
Software Components With the proliferation of vast amounts of software, it is important to find the right tools for the job at hand.
Software that is scalable and open in architecture ensures that your solution will be able to fit your needs after the initial launch of your web site. Your ability to continue to work with, and expand your
solution can be accomplished with the proper set of software tools.
Data Requirement The consideration of existing company data and how access to it is currently being handled, provides a foundation for how
this data could be integrated to the web site. This involves looking at current database technology and the potential for data migration and creation of new databases. The data requirement is essential in
configuring an interactive and dynamic web solution, which is easily updated and maintained. This also includes data used in e-commerce solutions.
Design Validation Design validation is essential in web traffic retention and web site usability. Logical and consistent design of a
current or proposed web site provides assurance that users will not only stay at the site longer, but also accomplish the task that prompted them to visit the site. This will result in a more satisfying visit
and better customer relations, with the potential of repeat visits to the web site.
Training Once your solution is built and deployed, it is important that you have the needed training on how to continue to use and manage
that solution. Your training is a key component, which empowers your organization with the ability to update and manage your web site.
E-marketing Evaluation Promoting your site is done through our e-marketing services. This is a part of your solution that we give attention to at the outset. It can be a key to the success of your web initiative, depending
on the population that will be using your site. E-marketing takes into consideration how traffic will be driven to this web site, and what resources can be used to accomplish this.
