FlexForm™ is an enterprise-wide printing solution which meets even the most demanding need to replace pre-printed forms. The FlexForm™ software runs on stand alone personal computers, Windows NT networks, and UNIX-based host computers. The wide variety of platforms makes FlexForm™ electronic forms available to everyone throughout your organization. It is made up of three parts that act together to merge electronic forms with pre-existing data to produce formatted reports. FlexForm™ is a total electronic forms solution consisting of FlexForm™ for Windows, the FlexForm™ Designer, and the FlexForm™ Print Engine.

Why Use FlexForm™?

Electronic forms eliminate the cost of managing a pre-printed stock inventory. You can implement form changes immediately. You also save on hidden costs of handeling forms, wasted alignment pages, discarding obsolete forms, collating documents, and messy carbons. Each FlexForm™ form is a perfectly aligned crisp laser printed original.

FlexForm™ for Windows

FlexForm™ for Windows enables you to create and merge electronic forms using any Windows application. The forms can be merged with any Windows print job, or merged with print jobs on other systems using the FlexForm™ Designer and FlexForm™ Print Engine. This application can be used alone but is highly effective when used with the FlexForm™ Designer and the FlexForm™ Print Engine.

Easy to Use - FlexForm™ does not require you to learn a new forms design tool. Design your forms with your favorite word processor, desktop publisher, or drawing package— CorelDraw, PageMaker, Word,— just to name a few!!

Converts output to forms - once your form is drawn, simply print it from your Windows application. FlexForm™ then captures the output and adds the electronic form to its library.

Form merging - forms created can be merged with any Windows application output. For instance, paint your letterhead electronically on reports from your favorite report writer or data base application.

A solution you will not outgrow - migrate to the FlexForm™ Designer and Print Engine for advanced capabilities such as printing endorsements, checks, bar codes, and more!

FlexForm™ Designer and Print Engine

The FlexForm™ Designer and Print Engine work together to design and merge print jobs using the forms you created with FlexForm™ for Windows. The Designer is used to specify how to format the print job, which forms to use, and if data will be converted to different formats. The Print Engine uses the Designer’s specifications to format and merge application data into laser printed electronic forms.

Easy to use - no need to learn a new language to produce sophisticated print jobs. The Designer runs under MS Windows and contains wizards that walk you through the specification process.

Cross-platform support - the Print Engine runs under MS-DOS, Windows, and Windows NT, and most UNIX platforms.

Data conversion - output from your application can be captured and re presented in a different format, such as new typeface, a bar code, etc.

UNIX Spooler support - the LP Plus spooler, which enables document collation and distribution, provides a built-in interface to the Print Engine. Individual plies of a document can be collated at one printer, or distributed to different printers as needed. LP Plus is available on most UNIX platforms.

NT Spooler support - the FlexForm™ NT Print Adapter allows for seamless integration of electronic forms on the Windows NT platform.

Capabilities

Bar codes - most bar code types (2 of 5, 3 of 9, UPC, Code 128, postal, etc.) are supported. Bar codes are scaleable, allowing you to vary the size.

Checks - producing laser printed checks is easy. Wizards walk you through the process of capturing and including the check number in the MICR line.

Endorsements - presents information that is common to documents such as purchase order terms and conditions (commonly located on the back of purchase orders) and insurance attachments.

Extractions - Data can automatically be extracted from your output and presented in a different typeface, bar code, etc.

Multi-part Forms - FlexForm™ easily handles multiple part documents by defining the individual plies of the form set. The plies can be printed either in a set, or separately to avoid collation.
