Labatt Brewing Company had a requirement to view and print corporate reports in their distributed sales offices where they have remote UNIX terminals. This requirement was beyond the capabilities of their existing IT infrastructure, which includes Sun Sparc servers, Solaris 2.6 O/S, and Oracle applications. This has limited access to key information required by their sales teams

Solaris, as are all UNIX O/S's, is very limited in its capability to manage report output. Users cannot customize report viewing, re-direct, re-print, or otherwise control outbound reports. This can negatively impact the performance and payback of expensive applications. According to market research, over 40% of System Administrators' time is spent resolving print and viewing problems for end users.

LP Plus is designed to provide those functions required to automate the print and view management functions. LP Plus is Print Management software for the UNIX operating system that replaces the standard UNIX lp utility. LP Plus enhances the performance of UNIX by allowing users to view or print jobs, diagnose and manage their print environment.
