Dayton, Ohio--Plus Technologies today announced that Plus Technologies' LP Plus Software has been selected to automate report viewing as part of a major system upgrade at Meijer, Inc.

Meijer is migrating mainframe based applications from IBM Series 1 systems to store base IBM RISC 6000 AIX systems located at each of Meijer's 115 plus retail stores. "LP Plus is a Print and View Management Software product that greatly enhances the capabilities of UNIX and NT operating systems", said Michael Visser, Vice President and General Manager of Plus Technologies. Added Visser, "Meijer had a few special requirements in the area of viewing screens and report archiving, that were key to achieving the project's objectives. With our flexible design, we were able to provide these features for Meijer."

Meijer selected LP Plus because it solved their viewing problems. They now can send mainframe reports to the store and with LP Plus they have a user friendly, intuitive way to see all of the information in the report. LP Plus allows them to pan across the entire range of a columns in a report. Meijer needed to keep their old report nomenclature when rolling out the new systems, with LP Plus they were able to customize the lengths of the fields in the reports. In addition, Meijer required that they be able to keep the reports for an extended period of time. LP Plus' ability to archive and retrieve reports was a very big plus for them.

LP Plus is Print Management software for the UNIX operating system that replaces the standard UNIX lp utility. LP Plus enhances the performance of UNIX by allowing users to view, diagnose and manage their print environment.
